Bristish Columbia Wines available in November - NY and CT exclusivity

One of the best kept secrets - at least on this side of the continent - is the quality of the wines made in the Okenagan Lake district of British Columbia in Canada. The varietals from the region include Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet for the reds, and Chardonnay, Riesling, and Viognier for the whites. The wines are very different in style from their cousins in Washington and Oregon States. Wines from Bristih Columbia are wines for food, and thus may be slightly more difficult to appreciate at a cocktail party.

AOC Fine Wines in New Rochelle NY and Old Greenwich CT has once again brought a lesser known wine region to New York's growing ranks of passionate wine consumers. The stores are announcing the arrival of the wines from the Blue Mountain Winery in British Columbia. As is often the case, these wines are currently available only at AOC Fine Wines boutiques and website.

Specializing in small vineyards and mostly organic and biodynamic wineries, AOC Fine Wines considers itself to be something of an anomaly among wine stores. Their focus is on artisan wine growers from all over the world, where quality and integrity, rather than quantity or market-driven ratings are the determining factors for making delicious if somewhat lesser known wines.
The addition of Blue Mountain Winery to their collection is typical of this approach. The exacting standards maintained by their winemaker Ian Mavety have put these wines at par with their international counterparts from Oregon or New Zealand. The wines - a gamay, a chardonnay, a sparkling, and a pinot noir - will be available early November.
